A small, dedicated team passionate about providing unparalleled service through a collection of beautiful holiday homes
Who are we?
Born of a desire to create beautiful spaces for friends and families to gather against a backdrop of idyllic countryside, Place to Be Homestays began as a small lockdown project in 2020 when Laura began the hunt for a property on the North Wales coast. When her brother, Nico, came on board and found a second property nestled in the hills of the Peak District, they saw a clear demand for well-appointed properties, attractively presented and
tailored to the needs of large groups. Their ambition is to provide everything you could need at each property, from hot tubs with views to spacious kitchens fully equipped for entertaining, all with great walks, sights and a pub nearby. With further properties in the pipeline, Laura and Nico continue to focus on well thought out design and scenic locations and look forward to helping more people find their Place To Be.

Laura Holden
Whether it’s a stunning view, the perfect cosy fire or a well-placed hot tub, Laura has an eye for the details that make a location extra special. While previously working in teaching and publishing, Laura has always been happiest planning her next adventure and searching for beautiful places to rest and reconnect. After a short career break following the arrival of her children, Laura decided to follow her dream of renovating a house in the country and creating a dream setting for gathering with loved ones. Laura is in her element overseeing every aspect of each property, from cushions to cookware, but also enjoys exploring new parts of the world with her family and, of course, still always makes sure they have somewhere nice to stay.

Nico Holroyd
From many years of working in the live entertainment industry, Nico has honed his talent for creating unforgettable and operationally smooth experiences for both artists and music fans. Now he’s excited to bring these skills to help more people seeking a different kind of escapism with a break at one of our beautiful holiday homes.

Harry Maitland
Harry has always loved bringing ideas to life. He was the third to join the team, carrying his passion for brand development with him. The idea of creating a community behind Place To Be is his vision; with his experience in various other industries helping to connecting guests to the brand. He relishes the operational side of the business, always striving to improve the guest experience whilst coming up with creative ways to deepen the customer experience. As the brand grows, the community around it grows too, and Harry looks forward to steering the reputation of the brand as Place To Be diversifies to become evermore established.
